Its going to be one awesome year!

The Story So Far: The Beginning of The End

This year I celebrate my 29th birthday. And I would like to think of it as the beginning of the end.

The beginning of the end of a decade.

The twenties years have been there, cherished loved, and a now its a preparation for the next chapter of my life.

I can’t help but feel a little sentimental over it. It was like time flew by so quickly.

But before I begin the countdown, I would like to take a look back to celebrate and reminisce my beautiful years of my twenties.

In my twenties, i

experienced my first major hang-over. I was twenty years old then, in my third year of college on an over night trip in Tali beach, Batangas.

… experienced true leadership as I was elected as Vice President for finance for UPJMA.

… witnessed first-hand the dirtiness of politics during my campaign to run as Finance Administrator for the college student council.

… graduated with honors at UP Diliman.

… went on a boat and plane trip for the first time alone, without parents, to Boracay the summer after graduation.

… got accepted at my first and dream job, ABS-CBN and have been there for 7 years.

… drove and bought my first car.

… experienced being courted and having my crush like me back.

… went through my first heartbreak.

… experienced my first kiss.

… went on my first flight outside the country with friends, no parents.

… bought a house (a condo unit to be exact).

… been to places like Singapore, Guam, Korea, Thailand, Cagayan de Oro, Palawan, Bohol, Ilocos for the first time.

…. fell in love with photography.

… experienced my first major failure at work.

… experienced rising above failure at work.

… had the startings of a business

… had fun and many adventures with my friends.

… experienced friendship divorce and meeting new friends.

… worked with 5 bosses, and worked with 6 platforms.

… Ran 5k and 10k races.

… kept 3 blogs.

Its amazing to just look back at the past 10 years to see all the things that happened and am thankful for all of those wonderful experience for I truly wouldn’t be where a I am today.

So where am I now?

I just celebrated my 29th birthday. I am currently on my 7th year at work, my 2nd year at the Kids and Longtail platform. I am still single. I am still living at my parents house, but on my way to completing my condo. I am currently gaining weight. I have never been to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South America. I keep a blog. I take photographs every day.

Its not much but that’s where I am right now and its a start. And so the countdown to the 30th year begins.

Here are just some things I’d like to do in my 30s:

  • quit smoking for good
  • go to Europe
  • be in a relationship and eventually get married
  • have my first child
  • live in my own house
  • Run a 21k race and a full marathon
  • have my photos showcased in an exhibit
  • meet and greet more of my favorite idols
  • own a popular blog and have it change the world
  • support my own philantrophic cause
  • own and operate my own business

And this list goes on. I’ll just add them as I go along.

This is just only the beginning. And I am quite excited for the next phase.

And I wonder what the future may bring. I create this to be a happy, adventurous, courageous, abundant and love-filled future!

Who am I in 2012?

Who am I in 2012?

1) FAITH

Faith in HIM. I dedicate 2012 to be a year of faith and thanksgiving for the blessings. Time and time again God has showed us his great mercy and never ending love. He is the guide who leads the way and helps you up when you stumble and fall. His blessings are the little miracles every day that makes you get up and fall in love with life a little bit more.

FAITH IN MYSELF. To trust in my abilities. To know my strengths and weaknesses.

FAITH IN OTHERS. You cannot do everything by yourself, its through trust in others that opens up bigger and expansive miracles.

2) PRESENT

Time waits for no one. In one blink, the present is gone. The past gets filled up and the future is still a big chunk of uncertainty. The present is a gift, and is only given if you open your eyes and look at what is happening right now at this very moment. The present opens your eyes to the truth.

This 2012 is the year to be present – present to the people around me, present to the moments that are happening around me, present to what is happening now.

3) COURAGE

The future is always uncertain, you cannot entirely predict what’s going to happen. Suddenly life throws curveballs at you. It tests your faith, your character and your strength.

Courage is what makes you take the first step. Courage is what makes you choose your own path and destiny. Courage is what pulls you forward. Courage is what makes you live. Courage is what makes you believe in yourself. Courage to go wherever you never dreamed before.

4) ABUNDANCE

An abundance of wealth, not just in monetary terms, but an abundance of relationships, time, projects, health, blessings, talents and miracles.

And with abundance comes sharing of these things to others so that they may experience the same happiness and make a difference in their lives.

5) ADVENTURE

Life is the greatest adventure. To explore places I’ve never been. To go beyond my limits. To sink to the deepest lows. To climb the highest peaks. To laugh out loud. To test my patience. To capture memories. To take new paths. To discover hidden treasures.

6) CREATIVITY AND BEAUTY

To show the world how beautiful and precious life is. Photographs. Blog entries. New projects. Painting a picture of the future. Unleashing the artist within. Laughing out load. Keep calm and sparkle on. Inner peace.

7) RESILIENCE AND CONSISTENCY

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. As I’ve learned, it sometimes just doesn’t happen overnight. Some things take time to heal, but always remember you can heal. This to shall pass.

Constant vigilance. Patience is a virtue, and practice makes perfect. Habits are made in 21 days.

8) OPENNESS

Being in the present opens your eyes to what’s really there and haven’t noticed before. Its time to open my heart to new things, and the willingness to try it on. And not to worry about others will think or what will happen in the future. Expect the unexpected. Be a space for miracles and blessings.

9) HAPPINESS

Shake up the happiness and spread it around! It makes the world a beautiful place. There is a glimmer of hope and faith is restored. A smile can make a difference.

This is also acceptance, acknowledgement and making things work out. Moving forward.

10) LOVE

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Cor 13:13.
